The great merchant of Venice, who runs overseas trade and has huge sums of money, Antonio is a melancholy character and an extreme racist. wanted to give Bassanio money because he is his close friend.He needed to sign a contract to Jewish businessman,Shylock.At the last of the scene, just whether decide to cut off his flesh or not.He's a friendly, generous and decent guy.
